Morning Joe Meltdown - MSNBC Hosts Choke on own Egos

It has been clear lately that the Morning Joe program is suffering from egotistical constipation as the two hosts, Joe and Mika, fight with each other and then shower each other with incredible foresight and honor for being first on the air to call the 2016 election.  This is when they are not hyping the books they have written, the band Joe plays in, or the books by Mika's family.

Well I have been watching since day one and the only person who stretches the truth more than Donald Trump are the MSNBC egos on air.  Their fortunes are dependent on sucking up to Trump to spike ratings for the show and they have consistently upset the Donald with their gratuitous and unsolicited advice, thus jeopardizing their access to the Donald.

Morning Joe, the token Republican on the show, and token may also be an a exaggeration, has taken to pontificating to Donald the few times Trump has called in, when in fact Joe's only interest is self-promotion. His claim to fame was being a congressman in the late 1990's.

His GOP credentials come from being elected to congress in 1994 and winning four consecutive elections, the last in 2000.  Shortly thereafter he mysteriously resigned from congress in 2001.  This was around the time of rumors of infidelity and his sudden divorce.  Then a married staff member was found dead in his District Office.

Scarborough claims credit for balancing the budget in the late 1990's and of championing New Federalism in congress.  In truth the Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich and President Bill Clinton negotiated the budget balancing although the National Deficit continued to increase at the time.

As for the New Federalism claim, I was part of a Presidential New Federalism task force The New York Times called the most extensive reorganization of the federal government since Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal.  We worked in the Nixon White House between 1972 and 1974 and we did pass a massive number of New Federalism initiatives that stand alone to this day as the greatest decentralization of the federal government in history.

Sorry Joe, your claim was an exaggeration as well.

Well after Joe last lectured Donald, Trump has refused to call in to the show thus undermining the ratings for a show long suffering from tepid ratings.  As MSNBC has continued to reorganize the network to be more fair and balanced, the shows have continued their dismal runs in last place in cable news programs and the strain on the Morning Joe hosts is clear.

This week Mika and Joe have gone off the deep end stating over and over how they and they alone called the election, forecast Trump's success,  and are the greatest political pundits on  earth I guess.  The level of insecurity oozing from them was painful to watch.  Everyone knows they are egomaniacs, they tend to constantly overemphasize their importance, knowledge, and status, and that they are firmly in last place in the cable ratings.

Morning Joe wins awards for best boasting and best Imitation of a Modern Barbie while rolling out carbon copy of Nazi and Communist Propaganda Machine

The last bit of news regarding the MSNBC changes involves the Morning Joe Show in which a non-descript congressman from the 1990's, Joe Scarborough and his Modern Barbie sidekick Mika Brzezinski have completely redesigned their logo, breakaway slides, and promotional pieces to look like the following.

Not much else has changed except Mika no longer has her entire family on the show selling books and self-promoting.  Her Daddy, Zbigniew Brzezinski, was a former National Security Advisor to Jimmy Carter and we know how well foreign policy things went for Carter with the Iranian's taking 50 some Americans hostage.

Her dad, mom, and two brothers have all made numerous appearances and Mika's own self-promotion of her books and book signings are shameless self-promotion gimmicks allowed by the previous owners of MSNBC but not the new owners.  The blatant conflict of interest and unfair business practice seems o longer tolerated.

Of course, Barbie has never ceased to promote her body parts, in particular legs, so that will most likely continue.

  

As for the Man Joe, a Congressman who quit in the middle of a term under a dark cloud of suspicion way back in the 1990's, he is the only Republican who admits to being Republican at NBC it seems.

However, his penchant for taking credit for everything that happens in Washington, D.C., for always claiming to have predicted what is going to happen in the future in politics, and for being the source, oracle, and medium for all things in politics, has resulted in an ego far in excess to his head size.

Morning Joe Show or Mika & Scarborough Nepotism Book Club (MSNBC)?

Mika Brzezinski, the 47 year old teenager whose legs dominate the MSNBC Morning Joe Show, seems to be moving the show into a family sitcom non-reality show with the ever-increasing list of family members featured as guests, authors, specialists at about anything and everything, sort of the Egghead Version of Leave it to Beaver.

There is Mika, her father Zbignhiew Brzezinski, her mother Emile Benes Brzezinski, her brother Mark Brzezinski and another brother Ian Brzezinski.  Her chain saw wielding mother, a sculptor, was grand-niece of the second Czechoslovak president Edvard Bereš.  Her father was national security advisor to President Carter.

Every day another member of Mika's family has a book being promoted on the Morning Joe Show if they are not making regular featured guest appearances.  Both Mika and co-host Joe Scarborough have already promoted many of their own books so why not the family as well since it is free TV time that would add up to tens of thousands of dollars if they paid for the time like most people would have to in order to promote books.

Of course anyone and everyone on MSNBC has books to promote including the regular contributors to Morning Joe and often the self promotion gets more enthusiasm than the news and views.  I mean even Mika's mother with a chain saw gets a amazing amount of promotions and appearances on the show.

Since Morning Joe and MSNBC continue to tank in the ratings, with a total daily viewing audience of less than 300,000 people, maybe they can't afford real reporters and news but if they are going to spend all their time self-promoting why not just tell the truth and rename the show the

It used to be that television shows were not allowed to self-promote book sales by staff members because it was an unfair business practice and abuse of government licensed airways.   It fell into the category of corrupt and unethical practices.  Guess those laws don't apply anymore.
