The Obama's Disconnect with the American Public - Barack and Michelle continue spending spree

Though the White House is trying to say the president's appearance on the View, the ABC talk show blabber fest that airs in the afternoon, was good public relations, it was just one of many things the White House would just a soon we didn't talk about as the schedule of the president and first lady continue to baffle experts and agitate the public.

You see, hundreds of thousands of dollars are spent every time the Obama clan decide to indulge a little at the taxpayers' expense. After his love fest with the girls on the View which is supposed to make up for the fact he has refused to hold a real news conference for months, he quietly attended two quite private fundraisers in NYC where people paid over $34,000 each to meet the president. So he slams the Supreme Court for allowing campaign contributions then books fund raisers from coast to coast to take advantage of the campaign laws he claims to deplore.



First was a fundraiser at the top-dollar Four Seasons hotel. The second of the two events was at the Greenwich Village home of Anna Wintour, the celebrity editor-in-chief of the American Vogue magazine who was the inspiration for the imperious fashion editor of the movie “The Devil Wears Prada.”

Administration aides said each event drew about 50 people but they provided little other information, including the identities of the attendees, and reporters accompanying the president were not allowed inside because Mr. Obama was not making a speech. While Mr. Obama and his recent predecessors typically have allowed reporters inside fundraisers for a short time, usually when the president delivers remarks to the assembled contributors, the Obama camp has adopted a policy of excluding reporters when he merely mingles with the monied crowd.



According to the deputy press secretary, Bill Burton, he told reporters on Air Force One that Mr. Obama is simply doing “what a president traditionally does, which is helping to raise money for the campaign season.”

Asked about the contrast between Mr. Obama’s afternoon stop with small business owners at a well-known Edison, N.J., sandwich shop, the Tastee Sub Shop, and his Manhattan evening with the rich and famous, Mr. Burton said, “Today is one of those days where he’s wearing a couple of different hats.”



While Obama was hobnobbing with the NYC elite plans by his wife, Michelle, for yet another summer vacation were being disclosed. Now remember on the weekend of Aug. 14, the first family weekends on the Florida Gulf coast, part of an appeal by President Obama and the first lady to encourage gulf tourism in the wake of the BP oil spill. Between Aug. 19 and 29, the first family will vacation on Martha's Vineyard, where they spent part of last summer.

The summer started with a Memorial Day weekend trip to Chicago; the family went to the Camp David presidential retreat before July 4; they weekended in Maine, sightseeing in Acadia National Park, departing on July 16 and returning Sunday afternoon July 18. Mrs. Obama took her daughters and her mom, Marian Robinson, to Los Angeles in June. In March, over spring break, Mrs. Obama with her daughters, mom and some pals hit New York for a round of Broadway shows.



Not cognizant that the masses have already blacked her out of mind, Mrs. Barack Obama has put a media blackout on her latest holiday but word has leaked out that without the president she has still scheduled 40-room reservations for herself, daughter, friends and bodyguards at a five-star hotel in Benahavis, Spain. Most already realize that Michelle’s Girls Night Out holiday in Spain serves as resting up time for the 10-day holiday she will spend on Martha’s Vineyard next month.

It was not the White House but the Spanish press that revealed she will be going to the upscale southern Spanish resort city of Benahavis near Marbella. As for the 30-40 rooms for "friends and staff", the exclusive Spanish hotel room rates are $2,859 a night. Of course there are the Air force jets and Secret Service expenses plus her personal staff, limos and you know the rest that should pump a few hundred thousand dollars into the Spanish economy when our Gulf coast is going broke. But the Obama family will be spending a weekend in Florida.



The globe trotting, jet setting Obama's seem to think Broadway plays, concerts in the White House by famous artists, weeks in Cape Cod and lavish parties at taxpayer expense are part of the perks of office yet no previous president has made such an effort to get away from America and impress the world, especially in tough economic times. Even George Bush used to go to his ranch in Texas to get away.



His campaign demonstrated that Obama was the best candidate money could buy at a cost of nearly one billion dollars and his presidency is demonstrating that common sense and good judgment still seem to be lacking by these so called community organizers from Chicago.

Barack Obama and Roger Ailes - Great Political Peacemakers

In a stunning turn of events Roger Ailes, the genius behind Fox News network and the Godfather of the conservative movement in America journeyed to the ABC This Week news round table Sunday, a program hosted by Barbara Walters of The View fame and keeper of the faith for liberals in America.



As you may recall, President Obama journeyed to the Lion's den just last week to meet with Republican lawmakers without Nancy Pelosi or the White House gang and his appearance caused quite a stir. We ran a story on the meeting last week.

This time it was Ailes who journeyed to the bowels of liberaldom to confront the enemies of reality, the masters of deception, the pyramids of the pariah and the fountain of negativity and nitpicking. Well, maybe that gives Barbara Wawa a bit too much credit since she seems to be shying away from awful controversy she began hosting the View with the wall of liberal defenders.



Still, she was able to draw the Big Bear Ailes from his mountaintop, she describes him as a friend, one of her millions I guess, and it was still a memorable experience. It was the Sunday after the President's State of the Union and the Ailes interview dominated the media Sunday which is just what Roger expects Fox to do. I'm sure the White House staff were disappointed that Ailes knocked the president out of the lead stories but Fox seems to make a habit of doing that.



Waiting for him at the table was The Huffington Post's Arianna Huffington, a more worthy protector of the liberal line could not be found. A few fireworks began to ignite when she interrogated Ailes but his legendary wit and brutal honesty were no match for the leftists.



She challenged him on having an extremist like Glenn Beck on Fox and Roger simply responded we are after the ratings and we are number one.



When she asked how he could possibly have someone like, ugh, Sarah Palin as a network news commentator he replied I was the only network to have the only Democratic VP candidate, Geraldine Ferraro, on TV for ten years and now I am the only network to have the only Republican VP candidate on the air. We are Fair and Balanced.



Huffington huffed a few times but got none of the adoration she gets from all the liberal shows where she normally appears and the series of exchanges finally gave us a break from all the politicians polluting the airways.

I must say when she was challenging the Fox efforts to polarize the public Ailes calmly mentioned that her very own blog has used equally inflammatory language about him, she promptly claimed it was a comment from a reader, but a fact check showed it was in a Huffington story. Chalk another one up to Roger. Perhaps that is why Fox buries the liberal media in popularity.



Now if these peacekeeping efforts by Obama meeting the Republicans and Ailes meeting the liberals are a sign of things to come then there is an outside chance civility may return to the political scene. However, it is not something I would count on as it takes more than words to mend fences.



Besides, we have a long ways to go before we have thrown out all the rascals in politics and since they have no guilt over stretching the truth to defend their horrid records then tough talk may be the only way to get them out of office where they belong.

Sarah Palin Didn't Resign - She Just Reloaded

So now we know where Sarah has been these past few months since she abruptly resigned as governor of Alaska. "She didn't resign, she just reloaded," according to the one person who may know her best, Charles Heath, her father. And by the way, for those in the liberal media who think she came in from the backwoods, her father was a science teacher while her mom worked in the school system.



As Palin took over the media in America for the week, what with Obama racing off to Asia to give away what was left of American dignity to Japan, China and Russia, Palin came out firing and has left many people in a daze from appearances with Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Walters, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Rielly, Glenn Beck, Dennis Miller, and Greta Van Sustern, while Letterman and Larry King tried to capitalize on her electrifying ratings boost.

Newsweek magazine featured Sarah Palin on the cover in a sexist workout photo, one they did not even take themselves. Of course the wimps from the executive suite had to say it was the most appropriate photo for Palin, which makes one wonder what in the hell goes on inside the magazine editorial meetings. Do they sit around checking out photos on all women and men to be featured on the cover looking for the most skin?



At a minimum it was an insult to the photographers at Newsweek. It was also a misrepresentation by the runners magazine who took the photo in the first place for a story about working out. They never disclosed to Palin they intended to sell the photo to anyone who agreed to smear her. This is the kind of sneaky, backroom macho action one might find in a den of weasels or boys locker room. So much for journalism in America.

Every major paper in America including the far left ran front page stories on Palin as she dominated the news more than any losing candidate for vice president in history. Her populist appeal, common sense approach, and refusal to be caught up in the politics of Washington make her a breath of fresh air in the toxic wasteland of our nation's capitol.



However, as we wait for daylight on day three of Obama's wailin, Palin blues week over 1,500 people are lined up in the dark at the Grand Rapids bookstore to buy Palin books. The same town where Sarah wanted to campaign but the McCain folks told her no last fall. A town and state that overwhelmingly voted for Obama and has been shaking their heads ever since.



As for Palin reloading, a lifetime NRA member like her does not need a lot of time for reloading and yesterday she took off the gloves on issue after issue with Rush Limbaugh who peppered her with policy questions and she fired back with no notes, no dodging issues and no hesitation to say that we never got the change promised by Obama. On Barbara Walters she graded Obama as a 4 out of 10 and I think she was being generous.

If the liberal media bothers to read the Rush transcript they will be stunned. When she has no handlers and can speak her mind her genuine concern about the future of America and the working people of America comes across loud and clear. Her knowledge of issues far surpasses what the media says she knows. And her ability to relate to people is a far cry from the Ivy League aloofness and arrogance of Obama.



Members of Congress better pay attention to Palin and what she has to say. Even the most liberal polls show Congress has a 15% favorable rating, the lowest in history. Still Congress under the Democratic leadership continues to ignore the public, ignore their own base, and maintain their record-breaking spending spree toward the economic ruin of America.

The most scientific polls in America show Obama has a 48% favorable rating while the most liberal polls show Obama gets just 42% favorable rating from White voters. Independents and cross-over Republicans have jumped ship because when Obama took office he was not the man they thought they elected. His agenda changed, his demeanor changed, his ego grew and his arrogance hardened as he sought to carry out his own secret agenda rather than what he promised the people. In America the people do not forget.



Each day Obama is on his far east tour where he has suffered policy defeat after policy defeat he looks more tired, more frustrated and more disengaged from the American public. Astonishingly his top advisors, who seem hell bent on leading Obama and the nation to self destruction, have done nothing to calm the political waters and in fact have poured gasoline on the flames with their hard line that only they know what is right for America.

As for Palin, she is out where Obama fears to tread, meeting the ordinary people on Main Street, listening to them, and preparing to fight for them. Thank God someone not part of the corrupt political system is willing to take all the abuse and smears to try and fix our country.

Obama's one shining light in the Administration is the one light he put out, Hillary Clinton. If I were Obama and Hillary resigned this next year, two years ahead of time, I would start thinking of retirement if Goldman Sachs has not already taken care of him as Clinton is the only Democrat who could keep the Democrats in office if she ran and defeated Obama in the presidential primaries in 2012. If she does not quit and run against Obama then the Republicans will surely win.

Two women stand in the face of Obama's quest to make history, Sarah Palin in front of him and Hillary Clinton standing behind. Both of them may have reloaded. The only question may be how many Democrats in the House and Senate does Obama take down with him?

Sarah's Back and the Liberals are Wailin' as Palin tears down the Wall of Silence

Just as Sarah Palin bursts back onto the American scene in a way that makes huge losers of all those who tried to destroy her, President Obama hops on Air Force One and heads to Asia for the next week. Coincidence or did the thought of Palin stealing the national spotlight for a few days drive him to the other end of the world.

It seems as if there was a Wall of Silence built around Sarah last year by the liberal media and only stories that trashed and bashed her reached the papers and airways. They kept her out of the media alright but they couldn't keep this straight talking reformer from reaching right into the hearts and minds of all those Americans who feel disenfranchised by corrupted politicians and special interests, by Obama who promised to fix the corrupt system, and yes, even by the news media who sell advertising to the corrupt people.



Like the Berlin Wall that came tumbling down ten years ago, Palin's Wall of Silence has come tumbling down now and all the King's horses and all the King's men (the Obama White House gang) along with the fanatic liberals who think they got Obama elected, are helpless, hapless and hopeless as they watch her media blitz.



You see, the only way a small group of outspoken liberals could keep Sarah away was to deny her access to the powerful television personalities and their high ratings. They did it for a year. During the campaign and after they would not allow her on their programs. Celebrities like Oprah and Barbara Wawa kept her away from their millions of fans.



Just when the libs think they have discredited Palin for good thanks to Katie Couric and CBS and their exposure of the punk who got Palin's daughter pregnant. Remember him? It was his exposure (good old Levi Johnson) they were exposing when they made him a media sensation because the Alaska slacker was going to bare all for Playgirl magazine. Now that may excite Katie but it hardly deserved to make the national news headlines.



Can you believe those people staging these non-news news stories? Pornography is one of the deadliest sins of the most popular technology of the 21st Century, the Internet. CBS was effectively generating porn traffic by highlighting the Playgirl spread, so to speak, on our bare, bear hunter, back woods boy from the northern frontier. Then Levi goes and tries to capitalize on the shame he brought to the Palin's.



Then Palin writes a book. This is the same ditty the media had been trashing all along. If she was brainless and clueless like the liberals said how could she ever write a book? When it was forecast to be a runaway best seller and she was given a $1.4 million advance it nearly choked the poor liberals to death.



But the greatest thrust of the dagger into their hearts came when fellow liberal stalwarts Oprah Winfrey and Barbara (the View) Wawa brought down the liberal media Wall of Silence around Sarah and booked her onto their popular television shows. Here's a secret. November is sweeps month for the TV programs when Nielsen measures the audiences and those rating are used to set the cost of advertising on those programs for the next few months.



Advertising is the lifeblood of television. The ratings determine the value of that lifeblood. So, Oprah casts aside the liberals and books Sarah on her show to be the first to introduce her new book, Sarah Palin - Going Rogue. Very smart indeed. So much like a capitalist. Barbara then lands a series of interviews with Palin to be shown on numerous shows on ABC next week beginning with Good Morning America. Let us see how many more book sales these rare appearances by Palin generate, and then we can determine if she might not be a lot smarter on the economy than we were told.



However, the Palin triumph does not stop there. In fact it didn't even start there. They came to her and asked her to be on their shows. She already had set up a national book tour to go out and meet the public while promoting her book. Sarah always understood that governing in America is all about the people, not the politicians and special interests. Look out for her. She will be cruisin the country in a big RV with a giant size painting of her book cover on it.



Her first stop will be Grand Rapids, Michigan. The home of the auto companies, union dominated and liberal leaning state of Michigan hardly seems the place for a conservative to launch her tour. But this was the very city the McCain campaign would not let her visit during the campaign saying there was no way to win Michigan. Palin said she would pay for the trip herself if she could go see the people of Michigan. Still the McCain people refused.



She patiently waited a year and now she is fulfilling one of her unhappy campaign experiences, not being able to go to Grand Rapids. People say they like Palin because "she is one of us." They also like her passion, compassion, principles, honesty and independence. After watching her survive one of the most intense and hateful smear campaigns in history, this much you really appreciate about Sarah Palin. She is one of us. She is not one of them.



This small town girl from the Alaska frontier grew up with dreams like all of us have. She dreamed of being a good Christian, having a good husband and kids, and building a good life. She was independent, strong willed, flew her own bush plane and learned survival in the frontier. She had absolutely nothing in common with the silver spoon liberal left.



This time Just Plain Sarah will get a fair chance in the media to present herself to the American public as she goes where she is most at home, in the heartlands and great plains, the mountains and small towns, and Main Streets of America. Here is where people understand Palin is someone who genuinely cares about you and your life.



Here is where she can relate to all those who have sent a son to fight in the war. Who are raising a handicapped child. Who have lived through the tragedy of teen pregnancy. Who have been frustrated by government and are fed up with special interests and Wall Street. Who are dedicated to bringing about change in our government, change that restores the morals and morality of our nation. Change we still have not got.



Love her or hate her Sarah Palin is going to carry on the spirit of patriotism that resonates with most Americans along with her Christian values and common sense approach to honest government. Palin is definitely someone who has "Gone Rogue". She might just be our best hope to stop them.
