Is There No Chance for Hillary in 2016 - Meaning the Yale and Harvard Streak will End?

Now average Americans are going to have a hard time accepting this because average Americans consider the Ivy League to be something found in the history books, or maybe in prose or fiction books.  The Great Gatsby comes to mind.

When it comes to power, the Ivy League is IT but normally in terms of the dominant Ivy influence over Wall Street, the international banking community, and the engines of commerce.

It seems we understand the power and influence of the Ivy League in terms of commerce but we really don't when it comes to national politics.  In fact the attitude of the general public in terms of the Ivy League in politics is rather bleak.

According to recent Rasmussen polls only five percent (5%) of American Adults think it is better for America to have presidents only from Ivy League schools.  A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 85% believe it’s better for the country to have presidents who come from a variety of schools.

There have been 43 men who served as US President as of 2008. It is often said that President Barack Obama is the 44th President of the United States of America. However, President Obama is only the 43rd different person to serve as President of the United States. This is due to the fact that President Grover Cleveland served non-consecutive terms and so is usually counted as both the 22nd and the 24th President.

Of our 43 presidents, 14 attended Ivy League schools.  Forbes magazine identified these additional political facts about the Ivy League.
 

All considered, more than a third of all U.S. presidents, Supreme Court justices and currently serving U.S. senators have attended an Ivy League school for undergraduate or graduate study.

It gets better.  When Obama completes his 2nd term this year we will have had 28 straight years of presidents from Yale and Harvard alone consisting of Bush 1, Clinton, Bush 2 and Obama.  In fact in the 227 years we have elected presidents, don't forget George Washington first took office in 1789, the Ivy League has held the presidency 85 of those years, or 37% of our history.

Hillary would be the 15th president from the Ivy League and that may be a bit too much for a nation in the which Ivy League represents just 8 out of 4,140 institutions of higher education.  For those of you into decimals the Ivy League makes up under 2 tenths of one percent (.001932) of our institutions yet controlled the presidency 37% of the time.

A recently compiled list of the 20 Most Expensive Colleges in the country shows prices, which include Tuition, Fees, Room and Board, range from $63,750 to just under $67,225 per year.

To my amazement only two Ivy League schools, Columbia and Dartmouth, made the list.

Sorry rest of the world, but fourteen of the top twenty are from the United States, including six of the top ten.  Harvard is the highest ranking Ivy League school but six of the eight Ivy League schools are in the top twenty in the world.  

What does this all mean?  Here in the colonies it seems the more other schools catch up with the Ivy League in terms of the number of schools and the cost of education, the stronger those dastardly Ivy League schools get control of our presidency and political processes.

Harvard was the first university in America founded in 1636.  By 1800 six of the first 16 universities in America were Ivy League, 37%.  Now the Ivy League represents less than one percent of institutions of higher education.  In spite of that we are completing 28 straight years of presidents from just two Ivy League schools, Harvard and Yale, and along comes Hillary seeking to extend that Ivy stranglehold on the presidency to 36 straight years.

Isn't it about time we give someone else a chance like The California Institute of Technology, Stanford, MIT, Slippery Rock, or even The Pennsylvania State University New Kensington Campus of the Commonwealth College, (the longest college name in the USA)?

I was going to attend Yale for undergraduate and Harvard Law for graduate school but fate had other plans for me and I wound up at the University of Arizona in Tucson, which I loved. But in spite of my Ivy loyalty even I think enough is enough, give someone else a chance to lead us.

Besides, with Hillary now making $225,000 per speech, more than her annual salary as Secretary of State, she really does not need the experience any more of the brutality of public service.

How is this for a dilemma?  Do you become president at $400,000 a year and spend 24/7 365 days a year tearing out your rapidly thinning hair and getting fat at state dinners, or do you work about an hour a day for two days and make the same amount without all the BS.

Besides, Bill Clinton showed us the way with his $100 million in earnings the few years after he was broke as president.  Same with his VP Gore, also a Harvard grad, and a host of other politicians.  Why would Hillary want any less?

The only glass ceiling she needs to shatter is the one holding the millions of dollars she will be making.

When Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton's annual salary was $186,600 making her the fourth highest paid government official in the United States behind the President ($400,000), the Vice President ($225,551) and Secretary of Treasury ($191,300).

Now she makes more giving a one hour speech.  Hillary, you and the Clinton family (Yale) have done enough for America, as have the Bush family (Yale and Harvard).  Of course if she loses, in steps Donald Trump giving The University of Pennsylvania Wharton School their first president, yet another of those pesky Ivy League schools.

Barack Obama - Great Expectations - Dickens and the Left

Looking back at the nearly six years since Barack Obama stunned the world and was elected the first Black president in American history, it is not hard to see how he was more suited as a cast  member of the movie Great Expectations than the reality of leading a nation full of Great Expectations.

Whereas Charles Dickens' 13th novel, Great Expectations, was the story of a young lad coming of age, so was Obama's election that of a young lad coming of age.  Dickens' Great Expectations is a graphic book, full of extreme imagery, poverty, prison ships, "the hulks," barriers and chains, and fights to the death.

I see the same kind of extreme imagery in Obama's journey through the presidency.  Surrounded by powerful bankers and other insidious scoundrels and dependent on a host of close advisors and friends whose principal purpose was the exercise of self-serving greed, experience proved a very tough lesson for Dickens' Pip and America's Obama.

"Welcome to the presidency Barack," came the deafening roar of the liberal left and socialist lefter with every special interest group East of Eden clamoring for a piece of the fat cat Wall Street 1% of the wealth in America.

His embedded constituency never believed in Obama's message of HOPE plastered everywhere during the campaign.  They had no intention of "hoping" for anything, all along they were prepared to take what they wanted from whomever they wanted.

That might work in the smoke filled rooms of a long forgotten political yesteryear but this is not yesteryear, the public soon found out that those rascal fat cats could be disguised as either Republicans or Democrats with the results being much the same.

Well into his 7th year as president Obama still has no meaningful tax reform to keep the rich from getting richer and the poor poorer.  There is no immigration reform, no massive defense spending cuts so we could finance Obama's big government social agenda.

Health care and education in America are the world's most expensive disasters as the more money we throw at the problems the more entrenched the crooks and vast the crannies where billions of dollars just seem to disappear.

We almost have wound down war to the point where we have the worlds most powerful and angry fighting force and no war to go play in.  Powerful because the military industrial complex that really rules the world has had a siphon sucking our defense billions into their R&D, new and useless weapons systems, and war after war.

Obama was greeted into the presidency by the worst recession since the last time Wall Street was caught with their fingers in Uncle Sugars' federal cookie jar, the Great Depression.

In 2008 it was home mortgage fraud on a scale beyond imagination.

It was securities fraud and deception enabling crooks to control the stock markets.

It was bankrupt union and government pension programs because of incredible extravagance.

When the bankers, home mortgage financiers, powerful labor unions, Wall Street securities experts and of course the politicians and bureaucrats all share in the illegal wealth being generated well, is it any wonder why the rich get richer and the poor get screwed?

Of course the Main Street media, that Constitutionally protected force in America that went from reporting the news to manufacturing the news in order to serve their own special interests, jumped on the Obama bandwagon either because they saw him as the Messiah of a New Social Order or they were ordered to by their advertisers.

So let us review history.

 Obama #44 was greeted into the presidency by an economic disaster.

Bush #43 was welcomed into the presidency by the 911 Twin Towers catastrophe.

Clinton #42 was welcomed into the presidency by a bunch of young girl friends.

Bush, Sr. #41 was welcomed into the presidency by Desert Storm.

Reagan #40 was welcomed into the presidency by the Iran hostage crisis and the economic crisis.

Carter #39, was welcomed into the presidency by the Watergate scandal aftermath and public skepticism.

Ford #38 was welcomed into the presidency when the prior president disappeared on a helicopter. 

Nixon #37 was welcomed into the presidency with the Viet Nam war raging out of control.

Johnson #36 was welcomed into the presidency when his predecessor was assassinated.

Kennedy #35 was welcomed into the presidency by the Cuban missile crisis and Berlin Wall.

Eisenhower #34 was welcomed into the presidency with the Korean War.

Truman #33 was welcomed into the presidency with the atomic bombs dropping on Japan.

Roosevelt #32 was welcomed into the presidency with the Great Depression.

Wait a minute, do you mean the last 14 presidents have all faced foreboding events in national and world affairs before or very early into their presidency?  Why on Earth didn't the Main Street media tells us about our history instead only focusing on Obama?

Every single one of the last 14 presidents with the exception of Clinton whose problems were kept pretty much undercover faced huge problems when taking office.

So maybe Obama didn't have it all that bad.  Maybe the Democratic leaders just need to stop whining about all their problems and roadblocks and roll up their sleeves and get to work.

There are still some issues of such importance to our future and magnitude to our present that if Obama and his enemy, the Republicans, could work together they still might leave a legacy of never losing sight that they are first and foremost Americans.

To be perfectly honest, I set out in life intending to go to Yale for undergraduate work and Harvard for law school.  Even back in the 1960's it took two years to get through the process of screening.  When I visited Yale in the spring of 1964 I found out they had no athletic scholarships thus ending my Ivy League career.  I would have been classmates with Bush, Jr. and Bill Clinton, along with Hillary.

But in spite of my Ivy loyalty even I think enough is enough, give someone else a chance to lead us.  Besides, since she is now making $200,000 per speech, more than her annual salary as Secretary of State, she will be seduced by the money.
