A monumental humanitarian catastrophe is underway in Syria and the Obama Administration has failed to stop it.

.

This week at the United Nations General Assembly Secretary of State John Kerry and President Barack Obama failed to secure an agreement from Russia and Syria to allow much needed aid for stranded Syrians in the middle of the civil war.

As the death toll of women and children continues to rise into the hundreds of thousands, it seems the much touted diplomacy policy of the president has failed.

Is Trump campaign open to new Syrian policies?

As new Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway securely takes control of the Trump campaign organization and final preparations are underway for the first presidential debate it seems there is a very dramatic change in the demeanor and responses from Trump on the campaign trail.

Kellyanne and Ivanka Trump, the candidate's daughter and most trusted advisor, seem to have convinced her father to make the changes necessary to be competitive in the final push.  With the polls still nearly dead even there is an intensity of the news media to find a fatal flaw in Trump but it does not seem to bother the Trump leaders.

The Coltons Point Times has noted the influence of Ivanka Trump throughout the campaign and look for her and her husband, Jared Kushner, along with her brothers Eric and Donald Junior, to play prominent roles in the campaign.

Does this signal a Trump policy shift?

Never will the time be better for Trump to immerse himself in the Middle East catastrophe and address the tragic Syrian Refugee problems resulting from the Syrian civil war.  The most current estimate of displaced refugees from Syria now exceeds 5 million with no end in sight.

With Secretary of State John Kerry and President Obama failing time after time to get humanitarian relief to the refugees in Syria, especially in the city of Aleppo, never has the need for a new Syrian initiative by responsible American parties been more needed.

Syrian Resettlement Program is desperately needed, built around an international coalition of nations led by the United States, China, Russia, Germany, France, England, Japan, and Middle East nations, to establish a real no fly zone in the Northwest region of Syria. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping must be key partners and both are having significant difficulties with the Obama administration and the floundering US foreign policy.

This new initiative must halt all hostile acts against any Syrian civilians in the area with severe consequences for violations. Adoption of a no fly zone must be part of the coalition building and will prevent Russian, Syrian, and even American planes from illegal bombing of civilian sites. Members must include President Assad of Syria.

The coalition must be built around the USRussia, and China as critical partners.  This no fly zone will become the first redevelopment zone in Syria and will serve as the model for further initiatives.  Prohibited are any actions against civilians by ISIS, rebel forces, or the Syrian government.

In addition, Trump should call for the establishment of International Trade Zones in America's most distressed cities for manufacturing and other activities to support and supply the materials to rebuild the Syrian cities.  Trump can expect the creation of tens of thousands of jobs and the generation of millions of dollars in foreign trade to result from this humanitarian effort to restore Syria to its rightful place in history.

Once elected President, in addition to ordering the implementation of The Syrian Resettlement Program, Trump can create a Syrian Resettlement Commission of American business executives to work with Syrian and Middle East specialists on plans to redevelop the cities.  Of course, Trump could also encouraged President Obama to launch the peace program sooner in order to get control of the refugee disaster.

This multi-faceted initiative could provide immediate relief to the crushing burden of the refugee crisis and the need to press forward with a resettlement plan to return them to their native country and homes.  Calling a return home for the refugees the most humanitarian program possible, Trump could also speed up the processing of Muslim refugees by resettling them in their home country.

With over half the people of Syria currently displaced, the world demands a solution that helps keep the people in their native environment.  By initiating this plan, Trump could demonstrate the senseless deaths of refugees attempting to cross the Mediterranean Sea will end and the crushing financial burden on other Middle East and European nations will ease.

Trump has expressed concern in the past that Syrian President Assad has been killing Syrians to protect his throne, and such a new Trump initiative could finally force Assad to address the Syrian civil war and the dire consequences.  If he attacks his own civilians, he becomes our enemy.

Refugees in the region

More than 4.5 million refugees from Syria are in just five countries TurkeyLebanonJordanIraq and Egypt:
  • Turkey hosts 2.5 million refugees from Syria, more than any other country worldwide
  • Lebanon hosts approximately 1.1 million refugees from Syria which amounts to around one in five people in the country
  • Jordan hosts approximately 635,324 refugees from Syria, which amounts to about 10% of the population
  • Iraq where 3.9 million people are already internally displaced hosts 245,022 refugees from Syria
  • Egypt hosts 117,658 refugees from Syria
The UN’s 2015 humanitarian appeal for Syrian refugees was just 61% funded by the end of the year.

Funding shortages mean that the most vulnerable Syrian refugees in Lebanon receive just $21.60 per person month or around US $0.70 cents a day for food assistance, well below the UN poverty line of US $1.90

86% of Syrian refugees in urban areas in Jordan are living below the local poverty line.

Conflict in Syria

According to the UN around 250,000 people have been killed and 13.5 million people are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance inside Syria

More than 50% of Syria’s population is currently displaced

One-in-every-two of those crossing the Mediterranean this year – half a million people – were Syrians escaping the conflict in their country

International Resettlement

In total, 162,151 resettlement places have been offered globally since the start of the Syria crisis, which equates to a mere 3.6% of the total population of Syrian refugees in LebanonJordanIraqEgypt and Turkey.

At least 450,000 people in the five main host countries - or 10% - are in need of resettlement according to the UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR.

Amnesty International is calling for at least 10% of Syria’s most vulnerable refugees to be offered resettlement or other forms of admission by the end of 2016.

Is Trump preparing to release a major Syrian Refugee initiative?

.

Trump campaign reorganization to open door to new policies?

Will the overhaul of the Trump campaign command structure open the gates to a new and more disciplined campaign?  Was the firing of controversial campaign manager Corey Lewandowski the pivotal first step in challenging Hillary Clinton?

As the concerns grew over the direction of the campaign under Lewandowski it seems Ivanka Trump, the candidates daughter and most trusted advisor, became the key to convincing her father to change leadership and bring in more experienced people to direct the fall efforts.

It was Sunday, when Ivanka sat down with her father, that she convinced him to get rid of Lewandowski and place veteran GOP strategist Paul Manafort in charge of the campaign.

The Coltons Point Times has noted the influence of Ivanka Trump throughout the campaign and look for her and her husband, Jared Kushner, along with her brothers Eric and Donald Junior, to play prominent roles in the campaign.

Does this signal a Trump policy shift?

Sources say Donald Trump, ever the one to confound the experts, is about to release a major new initiative to address the tragic Syrian Refugee problems resulting from the Syrian civil war.  The most current estimate of displaced refugees from Syria now exceeds 4.5 million with no end in sight.

The Trump initiative, called The Syrian Resettlement Program, is built around an international coalition of nations led by the United States, China, Russia, Germany, France, England, Japan, and Middle East nations, to establish a no fly zone in the Northwest region of Syria. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping will be key partners.

All hostile acts against any Syrian civilians in the area will result in intensive retaliation against them including coalition air and ground support.  Adoption of a no fly zone will be part of the coalition building and will prevent Russian planes from attacking local rebel groups helping to fight ISIS and bring down Syrian President Assad.

The coalition will be built around the US, Russia, and China as critical partners.  This area will become the first redevelopment zone in Syria and will serve as the model for further initiatives.  Prohibited are any actions against civilians by ISIS, rebel forces, or the Syrian government.

In addition, Trump intends to call for the establishment of International Trade Zones in America's most distressed cities for manufacturing and other activities to support and supply the materials to rebuild the Syrian cities.  Trump expects the creation of tens of thousands of jobs and the generation of millions of dollars in foreign trade to result from this effort to restore Syria to its rightful place in history.

This multi-faceted initiative will help alleviate the crushing burden of the refugee crisis and the need to press forward with a resettlement plan to return them to their native country and homes.  Calling a return home for the refugees the most humanitarian program possible, Trump is also expected to say it would also help speed up the processing of Muslims and any relocation to America and other nations but resettling them in their home country.

With over half the people of Syria currently displaced, the world demands a solution that helps keep the people in their native environment.  By initiating this plan, Trump believes the senseless deaths of refugees attempting to cross the Mediterranean Sea will end and the crushing financial burden on other Middle East and European nations will ease.

Trump has expressed concern in the past that Syrian President Assad has been killing Syrians to protect his throne, and this new Trump initiative will force Assad to take sides.  If he attacks his own civilians, he becomes our enemy.

Obamaville September 28 - USA Hit by 8.2 Earthquake as Pope Francis, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Russian President Vladimir Putin converge on America

.

What a week of astounding foreign influence on America as Pope Francis led a trio of international heavyweights onto American soil resulting in a seismic tsunami of epic proportions when it comes to America's role in the world, and the American agenda at home.

Pope Francis stopped in Cuba on the way and blew the doors off the Communist regime with his non-threatening message of peace and call to end the Cuban embargo by America.  Once the Cuban people saw Cuban President Raul Castro at the Pope's side for every Mass he delivered, they came out by the millions to welcome the Prince of Peace from the Vatican.

Next, the Pope journeyed to the heart and soul of America as millions flocked to hear his message in Washington, D.C., New York City, and the City of Brotherly love Philadelphia.  The first Jesuit Priest to become Pope in history and the first Pope ever from the Americas stunned the news media and politicians as he took on the most contentious and divisive issues of the day.

In our nation's capitol, he was the first Pope to address a joint session of Congress and he literally brought down the house.  In the process he inspired the Speaker of the House, John Boehner, to resign from his position as third in line for the presidency, and his congressional seat from Ohio.

The smiling, soft-spoken Pope from Argentina taught all the politicians a lesson on humility, service, and love for all human beings.  Clearly uncomfortable with the royalty and riches of capitalism, he became energized, and animated when diving into the crowds to embrace the handicapped, kiss the babies, take selfies with the youth, and highlight the rich American heritage resulting from open borders.

No matter how serious or contentious the issue, the Pope did not hesitate to embrace it from immigration reform to abortion, neglect of the elderly to refugees in Syria, the need for giving hope to the masses to the shame of sexual abuses in the church.  His visits to Harlem, to programs providing care for the downtrodden, to meeting prison inmates, overshadowed his amazing addresses to congress and the United Nations.

Whether the 266th Pope was meeting in the White House with the 44th President of the United States, or addressing the United Nations General Assembly in their 70th year in existence, the Pope cast an amazing aura.  The fact the Popes have been around for 1,982 years, and he was the direct line of succession from St. Peter the apostle who walked with Jesus Christ, gave a mystical quality to the joyful and hopeful Pope.

His words struck at the very heart of humanity when he said sexual abuse by priests and others caused, "God to weep."  His insistence that climate change required action for the good of our future generations, or that the sanctity of life must be protected from the womb to the end of life, resulting in his call for an end to the death penalty, left pundits gasping for air.

The gentle smile from this 78-year-old pontiff allowed all Americans and citizens of the world to hear his words, not just the 1.2 billion Catholics, and his Inter-faith service at Ground Zero of the World Trade Center of New York with clergy from every major religion of the world proved he was serious.

As the Pope was flying from Washington to New York the Chinese President, Xi Jinping and his wife were arriving at the White House.  As leader of the second most powerful economy in the world, Obama has accused China of many things, including every major cyber attack on the US.

In addition, China has expanded their defense capability and violated the territorial rights of islands off the coast of China by building an airport at that location.  It seems the islands are near major Pacific shipping lanes.

Of course, the USA has been using cyber attacks and infiltration and monitoring of computers and phones for fifteen years against foreign countries.  The big difference is Edward Snowden proved we do it while the Obama administration cannot prove the Chinese did.

President Xi Jinping immediately announced plans by China to reduce their military by 300,000 soldiers, ten percent of their entire army.  Then he agreed to secure international approval of the island annexation, and said China would commit to participating in the climate change treaty in November.  As one of the biggest polluters in the world because of their rapidly expanding economy, it shocked world leaders China was prepared to do their part.

By now, the Pope and Chinese president had beaten Obama by embracing massive and significant changes in the world landscape without being told to or lectured by America. Unfortunately, for the president, the world was not through with him.

On Saturday with the Pope in Philadelphia and Chinese President on his way to the United Nations in NYC, Russian President Putin requested a meeting with Obama.  Now Putin is the one world leader who can get to the president just by opening his mouth or smiling.

Obama has refused to meet with Putin for over two years because Putin snatched Crimea back from the Ukraine and Russia is still causing fits in the Ukraine.  As Obama waffled on whether to meet Putin, Russia also announced approval of a new security pact with Syria, Iran, and Iraq, stunning the American intelligence services when he made the announcement, the same day as his meeting request.

Syria is Obama's greatest foreign policy failure, Iraq is the biggest war disaster for Obama, and Iran only agreed to limiting production of nuclear weapons because Russia (Putin) and China were partners in the negotiations.  Suddenly, Obama found himself shoved off the stage of public opinion by the Pope, China, and Russia, and it was all happening on American soil.

Stay tuned for the results.
