Music - the gift from God - the People's Choice

.

Throughout time there has always been something God gave us to lift spirits, inspire, bring change or just make us forget.  The light from music can always penetrate the dark no matter how bad things get.  In this time music is more important than ever because the world has been lulled to sleep by technology, empty promises and misplaced priorities.  For a few minutes let some bright new artists take you away.

First there is Sister Crisrtina from Italy who literally blew away the judges on the Italian Voice competition. This singing nun is a real pint-size nun with the voice of an angel, or perhaps many angels.  She is living proof that not all heavenly music can be found in the choir book.

Second from Britain and the Britain's Got Talent show this year comes a group called Collabro that had been singing together for just a month before the competition.  Not enough time to be good? Just watch.

And now for the show...

Over 47 million people had watched Sister Cristina and several million had watched Collabro.

Janey Cutler New Susan Boyle of Britain

.

As if Susan Boyle, the 49 year old sensation introduced to the world on Britain's Got Talent last year is not enough, yet another more senior talent has been discovered from the pubs of Golly Old England.

You may recall that Susan Boyle had the best selling album in the world in 2009, with 8.3 million worldwide sales, almost four times as many sales as country star Taylor Swift.

This year's competition features Janey Cutler, an 81 year old pub singer, mother of 7 and grandmother of 4, who wowed the judges. Check her out yourself on this Youtube video.

Holiday Highlights

-

In an effort to brighten up your holidays we are selecting some of our favorite feel good stories of the year to share. First has to be the story of the homely 47 year old from Scotland, unemployed, who dared to dream and entered the televised show Britain's Got Talent.

Her first performance on the show can be viewed here and it catapulted her into international fame. Though she finished second in the competition, she won the hearts of the world and her recent release of a new album made her the fastest selling female singer in the world.

Her new record also shattered record label perceptions that a single genre of music had to be on an album as Susan included many different types of music. Her video was the most watched on YouTube for the year and equalled the total of the number 2,3and 4 videos combined. Thank you Susan for giving us a reason to smile.
